I will keep this up to date for as long as I can.

From left to right top row: Amokoura Daniels-Sanft, Ariana Eva Mahu, Nicole Tuxford. Middle row: Arishma Singh/Chand, Te Awhiahua Toko, Chozyn Koroheke. Bottom row: Amber-Rose Rush, Lynace Parakuka, Aroha Kerehoma.

It’s often hard for me to find the name of the woman or girl or even to see the report of her having been killed by a man, so if you have a reliable news source please comment below so I can keep the list as up to date as possible.

This list is incomplete. I know it is incomplete and I am sorry it is incomplete. It is incomplete because this information simply was not available in one place until I spent over a year collecting what I have so far. Please help me to complete it by writing any missing names in the comments below.

I was inspired by Karen Ingala Smith’s ‘Counting Dead Women’ and Jean Hatchet’s work to start this list for NZ.

More resources relevant to the global femicide emergency:

Note: Richard Milton Jones, known as Diksy, was a transsexual man who described himself as a crossdresser. He was sadly murdered by a man in 2009. I implore Tina Ngata, Sarah Jane Parton, Golriz Ghahraman and friends to hold an annual vigil to remember Mr Jones, but not to try and use his murder to dismiss the reality of male violence against women in Aotearoa New Zealand.
